Meet Our Newest Team Member, Chris!
This month we welcomed a shiny new intern into the CareGuide family; meet Chris Chang.
Chris joins our team from Waterloo where he is currently enrolled in his first year of Computer Science. He found out about CareGuide through Waterloo’s internship co-op Program.
During his 3-month stay with us, he’ll be working closely with our director of engineering, getting his first real taste of what it’s like to work at a startup.
We thought, what better way to get to know him then by throwing a few questions at him?
How did you fall into Computer Science?
I chose Computer Science because I enjoy programming and it relies on logical problem solving. I enjoy thinking about logical problems. Also with software development skills you can create anything you want from scratch which really appealed to me when I was deciding on a major.
What’s your focus?
My focus for this particular internship will be to learn as much web development as I can. My focus for the next couple of years in school and in future internships will be to explore different areas of technology and find the particular area I want to work in after I am finished school.
Why CareGuide?
When I first met Ed and John during my interview, they described the workplace as a very fast-paced environment. I knew in order for me to get the most out of an internship, I should come to a fast-paced startup company.
...And some random questions just for fun!
Last trip you took?
I took a trip with my family to New York City last Christmas to sight see and explore the city. It was my first Christmas without worrying about school work because exams in university end in December, so basically this was my first relaxed Christmas break in a long time!
What do you do with your time outside of CareGuide?
I enjoy playing basketball and working out. I also enjoy watching movies and hanging out with friends.
So does this mean you have a favourite movie of all time?
Not one in particular but some of my favourite movies are: Fight Club, The Dark Knight, Pulp Fiction, and Good Fellas. I enjoy lots of action movies.
