Patient Bill of Rights
         
CareGuide adheres to federal, state and other regulatory and accrediting organization requirements pertaining to Member Rights and Responsibilities within the scope of our payor contracts. CareGuide monitors compliance through analysis of complaints or grievances, requests to change providers, member satisfaction surveys, and other sources of clients' member input.

CareGuide patients have the right to:
Be treated with respect, dignity and consideration for their privacy;
Be assured of confidentiality of health and medical records and of other member information;
Be free from discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, or source of payment in receiving health care services consistent with the benefits covered in their individual health policy;
Access services, as specified in the individual health plan benefits in accordance with federal and state laws;
Access emergency health care services without prior authorization consistent with the clients' member's determination of the need for such services as a prudent layperson;
Choose providers from among those affiliated with CareGuide and/or the individual health plan network;
Refuse care from specific providers;
Participate in decision-making regarding his or her health care.
